| What is PRI Service? PRI stands for Primary Rate Interface. This technology uses two pairs of copper lines from the phone company to a customer’s PBX. This connection is capable of up to 23 voice calls. In the past, it was cheaper for the phone company to deliver service on one PRI circuit than 23 separate copper pairs. Today, converged digital IP technology (the PRI) is typically used to deliver service to the legacy phone PBX after it is delivered to the customer site over clear digital technology. What is POTS Service? POTS Service is a standard plain old telephone service delivered on a single copper pair. Urbancom.net can bypass the legacy phone company and deliver POTS service via an analog telephone adapter. This device plugs into your broadband connection and outputs POTS phone service. |
